This year we honor those figures that had local, regional and national impact in the fields of health and wellbeing. Louis commemorates Black History Month and beyond by elevating Champions of Saint Louis – historical, contemporary, world-renowned and locally known. The Brown School at Washington University in St. Educators support the safe return and continued operation of schools from head start programs to higher education across the nation.

Artists have turned inward to create works that sustained us and fostered a sense of unity even as their livelihoods went into lockdown. Parents have navigated uncertainty, homeschooled their children and learned to work from home. First responders and medical personnel worked to help us stay safe while battling fears for their own families.

Navigating a worldwide pandemic has focused our collective attention on all aspects of health and wellbeing – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. This year’s theme and focus: Black Health and Wellbeing in St. Welcome to the Brown School’s 2022 Black History Month celebration, January 19 through March 1, 2022.
